Improving public understanding and awareness of program and reflecting public demand are beneficial to the program development. In this paper, the comprehensive control project for farmland soil erosion in a small watershed of Funing County was taken as a research case. The approaches and significance of public participation in the project are analyzed; the application of public participation results to the project implementation are described; and the experiences and suggestions of public participation in the project are summarized.
